DUBAI’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has released the official schedule for its services during the Islamic New Year holiday, marking the beginning of Hijri Year 1447.

The updated timings apply to customer service centres, public transportation, parking, and vehicle testing facilities across the city. The changes are effective on Friday, 27 June 2025, designated as the public holiday.

Residents are advised to plan their journeys in advance as some services will be closed while others will operate on modified hours. The authority also encourages commuters to use digital platforms, including the S’hail app and online portals, for seamless travel and access to updates.

Customer service centres

All RTA Customer Happiness Centres will be closed on Friday in observance of the New Hijri Year. However, Smart Customer Happiness Centres located in Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, and the Head Office will remain operational around the clock. These smart centres offer a full range of services without requiring in-person assistance, ensuring residents can still complete their transactions digitally.

Public transport timings

Dubai Metro will run on extended timings, operating from 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM the following day. Similarly, Dubai Tram will function from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM, providing commuters with reliable service throughout the holiday.

Public buses will continue their operations, although specific timings may vary during the holiday. Passengers are urged to consult the S’hail app for route-wise updates and live schedules to avoid inconvenience.

Marine and vehicle services

Marine transport services will also be active, but with possible adjustments. Users can access the RTA’s dedicated link to view real-time marine transport schedules.

All vehicle technical testing centres will be closed on Friday, 27 June. Services will resume as normal on Saturday, 28 June. Those with vehicle inspection appointments are advised to reschedule accordingly to avoid delays.

Free parking day

One of the most welcomed updates from the RTA is the free parking announcement. All public parking zones across Dubai will be free of charge on 27 June, providing residents with convenience during the holiday. However, multi-level parking terminals are excluded from this offer. Normal parking tariffs will be reinstated from Saturday onwards.

Dubai residents are encouraged to use this period for rest or travel while being mindful of the updated transport schedules.
